We are a faith-inspired foundation committed to serving vulnerable children, families, and communities in Butebo, Uganda. Through compassion, collaboration, and a deep sense of responsibility, we aim to bring meaningful and lasting change to those who need it most. Our mission is not just about providing aid, it’s about restoring hope, building futures, and creating opportunities where they once felt out of reach.
Why Butebo, Uganda?
Some places leave a lasting mark on your heart, and for us, Butebo is one of them. In this region, many families face daily struggles that go beyond what words can fully capture. Access to clean water is limited. Basic healthcare is often out of reach. Children who dream of going to school are held back by circumstances beyond their control. For many, survival itself is a daily challenge.
Yet, even in the face of these hardships, there is resilience. There is strength. And there is hope
We chose Butebo not just because of the need, but because of the people, their courage, their spirit, and their willingness to rise above challenges when given the opportunity. Our work here is deeply personal, and every initiative we take is designed to support the community in a way that is sustainable, respectful, and impactful.
Our Story
Wishing Well Foundation Corp. was born from years of connection, experience, and a growing desire to do more. Our founder, Michael Freer, has spent over two decades building relationships and understanding the needs of communities in Uganda. Through multiple visits over the past 20 years, he has witnessed both the struggles and the strength of the people in Butebo.
These experiences shaped a vision, one that goes beyond temporary solutions and focuses on long-term impact. With the support of U.S.-based ministries, dedicated volunteers, and strong partnerships on the ground, that vision began to take form. The foundation was created as a way to bridge resources with real needs, ensuring that help reaches those who need it most in a meaningful and lasting way.
Today, Wishing Well Foundation Corp. continues to grow, driven by a shared commitment to serve, uplift, and make a difference.

The mission of Wishing Well Foundation Corp. is to improve the quality of life for vulnerable children and communities by

Clean Water & Infrastructure
Many communities in Butebo rely on unsafe water sources, which can lead to serious health risks. By building water wells, we aim to provide safe, reliable access to clean water. This not only improves health but also saves time, allowing children to attend school and families to focus on building better futures.
Health & Wellness
We work to support basic healthcare initiatives, including efforts to combat Malaria, HIV/AIDS, and Tuberculosis (TB), often referred to as the “big three.” In addition, we provide sanitary supplies and resources that promote hygiene and prevent disease.
These efforts are designed to protect lives, improve well-being, and give individuals the chance to live healthier, more stable lives.
Education & Youth Development
Unfortunately, many children in Butebo are unable to attend school due to a lack of resources. We are committed to changing that by supporting education systems and providing essential tools for learning.
We also welcome donations of books, laptops, and lab equipment to help create meaningful educational opportunities. By investing in education, we are investing in the future of the community.
Orphanage & Family Support
Through our collaboration with Kaleko Orphanage Home, we provide support to children who are homeless or living without stable family structures. Our efforts also extend to families in need, offering assistance that helps them meet basic necessities and build stability.
This support goes beyond material aid; it is about creating a sense of belonging, care, and hope.
